(#LongPostAlert) As I type this status, I am 24 Days and 12 hours from starting my first Voluntary Full Marathon. Which means I should be about 24 days and ~17 hours from completing it. I am currently in my taper phase which means I am not running every day (Like I have been for the past few months). It also means that I have time to absorb the weight of what I have set out to accomplish. I have many people to recognize as an inspiration/motivator. 1st my Father (George Stringer) He, really laid the foundation for the start of this journey. Then comes my wife Molly Griner Stringer, without her support and putting up with this, I would not have taken it this far. Then my Children Kyle Cougar Stringer and Nancy Thomas(and her now husband Marcus Thomas), it was so special training with them and finishing the WDW Half Marathon together. Next, Jim Dorris, and his wife Sherry Dorris, He showed me how to enjoy the finish line. Damon Allen Holditch, Mercedes-Benz Marathon Weekend, and Marathon Runs kicked off the start of the C25K portion of this journey. Scott Hawks, without breaking my leg and setting an obstacle in my path and increasing my determination to run the WDW Marathon Weekend, I am pretty sure it would not have been as fulfilling. Melissa Steven, Carrie Brown Rodgers, and Steve Rodgers, not to mention all of their children (Ashlinn Rodgers, Mitchell Rodgers, and Morgann Rodgers, Amanda Rodgers and Mackenzie Rodgers) , and parents that came to watch us cross the finish line. My Glass Slipper Challenge enabler Kimberly Oehrlein. Meeting people along the way like Brittany Bear-Brown and her husband Kendrick Brown, not to forget Eddie McCoy Listening to countless Mickey Miles Podcast, with Michelle Scribner-MacLean and Mike Scopa. And talking with all the Mickey Miler Running Team. The Run Disney Fitness Team - RDFTeam was a great gathering place to share information and ideas for Disney and running and eating. John Mouland, his wife Karen Mouland and Matt Allgaier have been very supportive. I started this journey weighing in at 251 lbs and when I weighed in this morning I was a svelte 217(even after all those wedding shenanigans) If I have missed anyone, I am truly sorry. It has been a great ride so far. I currently have planned The Rocket City Marathon, The inaugural Star Wars Half Marathon/Rebel Challenge(With Caitlyn Wood ), Mercedes Full Marathon and 2016 Dopey Challenge. Not too bad for a 50 year old man with horrible knees...
