*Look away now if you are an Apple fan ;) * Sooo my iPhone decided to break today - its the second iPhone 5 Ive had in the last 3 months, they suddenly both just died! .. given the fact that i owned the very first iPhone and every version since then.. im a bit stumped about the latest one! In i went, slightly hesitant after Apple broke my last iPhone when they tried to fix the screen and then had the cheek to charge me for a full phone replacement. The lady today was very nice, she replaced my iPhone after discovering something was wrong with it and fixed Alices Mini iPad - i left £500 lighter and with a mild heart attack!!!! Why am i rambling? well whilst i was sitting there, unusually not on the im taking all of your money and there is nothing you can do about it end of the stick .. i heard a college girl being told that diagnostics on her iPad showed she had charged her iPad over 600 times in the last year.. this was deemed as too much charge .. and .. wait for it ...had violated her warranty! The poor girl tried to explain she had to keep charging it as it was dying every few hours.. and she couldnt get to a store as she had exams.. the guy basically told her he couldnt help, she should have brought it in earlier .. the poor girl was almost in tears.. On the other side of me sat a man who found out his iPhone had to be replaced for the sum of £290! whilst asking the genius behind the counter to help him set up his new phone.. the Apple genius in a very patronising tone, which had me staring at him! declared cant you read your on screen instructions whilst taking nearly £300 from him.. And finally the poor man who strolled in to ask how he can sync his music from his iPod to his NEW macbook pro he had just bought, he was told to google it! I have to admit i thought i had been smacked on the head and had woken up somewhere else.. i am pretty sure most of us have an apple device in our homes and we all fell in love with their beautiful, clever products and most of us depend on them to help us through our hectic lives.. but i am also sure we arent foolish to just give away our hard earnt money and when its time for contract renewals.. Blackberry, Samsung and anybody else out there might be looking just as good ;) RIP. Steve Jobs ..
