Look for goodness and kindness today: One of the key determinants of feeling good in the world is whether or not you think the universe is primarily a friendly and pleasant place to be. This is completely dependent on what your brain searches for and notices. Of course there are unfortunate events and people with hostile views or behavior. However, if you look carefully, you will notice that the vast majority of people are well-intentioned and kind, and that if you look for good things or people in the world, they are everywhere, just waiting to be noticed and appreciated. A belief in a friendly universe means that we feel safe and supported, and less prone to fear/anxiety. Of course this needs to be balanced with discernment, but the evidence of benefit for fostering trust in a friendly world far outweighs the evidence for wariness, cynicism and mistrust. Notice the kind and the good today.
