Looked the length and breadth of Ferndale last for a pub , one was shut, some were closed down, found a club, walked in, got stared at in shock by the local clientele, asked for a brandy and ginger to be told by the barmaid in no uncertain terms, `We dont sell that kind of stuff in here` ended up with a warm southern comfort in a half pint glass..Then found the Band club, walked in to be told no women were allowed in the bar so they opened up the lounge for me!!!! The grill on the bar was down, I asked for a brandy to be told` You dont want the brandy we have love, it`s shit. I had a warm southern comfort in a half pint glass......Oh the joys of drinking in the valleys....
