Looking at my wrist watch, I realised that a good watch is able to work all day long without stopping to rest nor complaining, because it doesnt consider how much it has worked nor how much it has to nor how long it has to. It just knows it is to work, and sets itself about the business of working. It appears to be saying, Give me a battery and I will be about your business, singing myself away as I do so. We should be like Swiss watches, with His Spirit as our energy. So we may then serve God with fear and holy reverence, going about His business with joy and singing. And like watches are faithful in keeping time, we too may always be where God wants us...being at 12 Oclock, and being happy being there, if He wants us there, and not at 6 Oclock where we may want to be. A Christian should never consider how much he has done, nor how much he has to, but only that he has to. To be able to serve Him with joy, consider always how much He has done for you, and how much He is doing, and shall do, and you shall find your bowels of joy, tied up by the twine of ingratitude, come bursting into an uncontrollable eruption of a bright countenance and of peace unimaginable. It is no doubt, we honour God with our devotion to Him; but it is an insult to Him that He should be served by depressed, unhappy people, with long faces, like they were mourning His passing, or like He was some kind of a bloody tyrant who shows no mercy and loves us not. Anytime you are unhappy, remember to put your Swiss watch close to your ear; and may its joy of service become an immediate rebuke to your usual sadness and worry. If you are not happy serving God, please, go and do something else...He will rather have it so. -Aondozungwe KK, the one whom Christ loves.
