Looking through the lens of history, I find some solace in the fact that despite the bigotry, moral outrage and religious fundamentalism, eventually issues of gay marriage and reproductive rights will be lessons learned, in much the same way civil rights and womens suffrage have become. I just wish that the rancor and divisiveness didnt cause so much damage and hardship in the meantime. Being on the right side of history is indeed an uphill battle, but history tends to side with the human spirit and the universe favors balance.
