Looks like this is happening: Ill arrive in Mazatlan for Carnival, then head to the Copper Canyon with Andres Lopez to teach the Tarahumara how to make HUGS hammocks, as he has a friend with contacts and projects already set up there. After that Ill rent a place on the beach at stone Island with Karina Soltero to sew hammocks there, and seek others to sew with me and see who would like to carry the project forward. Andres is generously supporting this project with a huge fabric donation, and I am going with the intention to teach as many people as I can how to sew as my objective. If there is a circle in Mazatlan to form a sewing collective and HUGS Hammock Hotel... well make it happen. Its been a dream for a long time... worth another kick at the can. Thats about it... anyone who wants to join in the fun is welcome. In the next three weeks between now and then I will sew day and night to raise funds for this project.
