Looks like we have entered a new stage in the Facebook war between the women of Darood and Hamiye. History is being revised or maybe reinvented. In this clip you will be listening to a chapter in Somali history. Forget about the piece of “buraanbur” –wishfull thinking. Looks like that Darood Ismail is originally from Yemen –‘… Male Arab lost in Africa’ – that is where the word Somalia came from. Unbelievable! Then there is the other side: Abgal Osman – probably came originally from the Arabian Golf – Osman is a common name in Kuwait. The rest of Hawiye may be linked to the Hutus of Rwanda!!The Isaqs came from Sheikh Isaq of Saudi Arabia, somewhere in between Mecca and Medina. The Gadabuursi? The light skinned of the Benadir coast can trace their roots to Europe. So, who are than the native indigenous people of this country? These kind of stories are complete fiction where tribal affiliation has become more important than unity among the Somalis. Basically, these people are suffering from and showing what is known as ‘Inferiority Complex Symptoms’. I will suggest that they stop all of these nonsense and let us organise a beauty contest between these women. First between those of Darood and Hawiye; then Isaq and Gadabuursi. Terms and conditions apply: NO MASKS; NO XIJAABS – first round. Then second round: “More detailed inspection – NO GORGOROS”. After that a panel of neutral men experts will decide the winners: end of story. What do you think my friends! Wish you all a happy new year.
