Lost City of Ani … City of 1001 Churches There was somewhere A city called Ani In the Armenians’ Highland In the Armenians’ ancient history Near Kars During 5th Century There was somewhere The Ani City Had a happy nation Building their homes Carving Khach-Kars Dancing on grass With their folklores … Baking lavash Somewhere... there were... Thousand and one Churches Named, the city of Ani How to forget …how not to mention Builders without having iron bars or cements build fortresses, palaces, by carving rocks Fixing them with their sweet-salty sweat The city Ani was sited on the branch of river Arax Sunny valleys with green trees Beautiful gardens more than any paradise Historian forgot that place Continue praising ‘Hanging Gardens of Babylon’ Ani was not far from there By plane you can reach in less than 2 hours But every place is blocked by traitors Who are arriving once again by their scimitars Arriving to cut the tongues of the Ani’s offspring!
