Lost a lot of respect for a preacher this week over the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. election. When you openly threaten to sue a convention because you didnt get your way or the vote count didnt fall your way or you claim exclusionary practices and you havent darkened the door in 20 years or youre ticked off because your candidate didnt get picked therefore your promised job (which was promised to others as well) didnt materialize - then you were never seeking the good of the convention in the first place, it was all about you. I think the reason why some church members have issues is because some of us, as leaders, have issues. Dont condemn the church when you consider yourself above it all and hide out in the ivory towers of academia at scholastic institutions that if it werent for the church, would be out of existence today. We can (should) do better . . .
