Lots of LOFers at the Global Leadership Conference next week. Hello Just a note to everyone that the Burning Man Global Leadership Conference is next week and we have a TON of LOFers going this event..so expect a ton of inspired and excited folks to return with fresh ideas and suggestions and plans! This year is the 8th Annual Global Leadership Conference and the event runs from Thursday, April 3rd through Sunday, April 6th. All days of the event are filled with diverse and engaging workshops, speakers, presentations, and gatherings for the evenings. Community Leaders from round the world attend to network, share resources, stories and learn from each other. Community leaders chosen have an opportunity to bring these experiences back to the Great Lakes region to help build it be stronger, more amazing and help inspire more of our community leaders and members to step up so can all level up our game together in our cities and in our regions. This year regions were allowed to invite 5 members from our communities in addition to our Regionals. Michigan asked for folks to nominate themselves for these positions. The 5 Community Leaders chosen this year are; Jenna, EZ, Rosey Rolando and Dirtball. Sadly Roland was chosen but is unable to make the event. Also from Michigan we have our two new Regionals Brick and Lavender. There are also a ton of folks coming from across the Region. Chicago- Puma, Bebop, RobRob, Breedlove, Ghost, HeyU, Flipit, Groot Indiana- Havoc was invited by her Regional rep Wisconcin- Blazer and Wulfgar. I am not sure who else was chosen from these areas, Regionals please let us know who you all extended invites to in order to help build your communities so we can hear back from them after the event about what they learned and will hopefully bring back and share with our region. A number of the Meta Regionals and Community Leaders from the area are presenting at the event. Blazer is presenting on Permits Breedlove is presenting on the BWB Walk the Talk Grant Groot is presenting on Finances. Doxie is hosting a Fire Safety Panel with talks on Perimeters, city fires, pyro and a regional depository for Fire Permits. Looking forward to this event and seeing how we can all return inspired by fresh ideas and connections for the Great Lakes. this is going to be so exciting.. LOF is taking over the GLC!! ~doxie
