Lots of folks have emailed to say how impressed they are with Dead On Live, a project that recreates Dead albums with a faithfulness and rigor that has attracted praise from a wide variety of listeners. Even though the Dead were known as consummate improvisers, its good that their compositions and album arrangements are getting respectful attention. Tonight Dead On Live appears at Santa Cruz institution Kuumbwa. ~ Nicholas
