Lots of memories this last week. Ten years ago laast Sunday I preached in a church in Beruit with about 10 minutes warning. !0 years ago today, I served Communion in a church in Cairo. All part of a diplomatic trip taken for the Presbyterian Church, USA through Lebanon, Syria, Israel, and Egypt. Issues, Iraq, Palestine, and Christian Zionism. Fascinating trip with extended conversations with Ashar Bashad, president of Syria, Prime Minister of Egypt, Grand Sheik of Egypt, Grand Mufti of Egypt, and countless religious and political leaders throughout the Near East. a
