Lotus Lotus was one of the teams expected to suffer with the revised tires, but the black cars were respectably fast. Kimi Raikkonen secured fourth on the grid, while Romain Grosjean was fifth and just 0.067 seconds slower. They maintained their positions in the early laps, moving up as others pitted. After Kimi stopped Grosjean stayed out until lap 13 which secured him in second. Thereafter he chased Vettel for most of the race. Thanks to a later final stop Raikkonen led for a while. He pitted for softs on lap 49 and dropped to third, and having passed Grosjean, he chased Vettel to the flag. Could the team have done a better job on strategy? Even Kimi felt he could give run to the end without that third stop.
