Love drove family members into impossible conditions to search for - TopicsExpress

Love drove family members into impossible conditions to search for Dales plane. Compulsion drove the others. As I read the stories written by those who arrived in Yellow Pine to assist the family, there was a common thread in their decisions to go. Love, inspiration and a desire to serve their fellow man were a part of it, but there was something more. They weighed the magnitude of their personal expense, being away from their families, the dangers involved, their personal fears, and the overwhelming commitment of time, energy, and the resources that they faced. Each person described a compulsion that over-rode practical wisdom and separated them from the many who wanted to help. By the time our family got the devastating news that the search and rescue teams were no longer available to help us and that we were on our own if we wanted to conduct a private search, the first group of volunteers had either already arrived or were on their way. The original story sent to me by Blake Williams is posted on my blog, thesearchfordalesplane. All of the others stories will follow. They inspire beyond words.
