Love hurts whether its right or wrong! Its the most extreme of all human emotions, and so are its repercussions! Yesterdays episode was a game changer; and it seemed like a dagger to MaNan fans hearts! And the passionate reactions by everyone are understandable! What is not understandable though is the cruelty and lack of compassion with which people are treating Nandini! So Manik can touch her when he wants, drag and pull her fifty times a day, physically manhandle her, and be a rude asshole to her! He can be her lover when he wants, pass her along to his friend when he so sees fit, then fume whenever she talks to and smiles at said friend! Then, post a punch and some introspection he can want her back in his life, apologize and expect her to forgive and forget! And we are okay with it, right! Because he is Manik Malhotra; hes a guy, he has his reasons, hes such a good friend, hes so in love with her! Oh look, how cute was that apology! Aaaaw! The feels! We empathize with what hes going through! Thats all well and cool; because what he is going through is only human, even though he still hasnt realized or introspected upon the gravity of what he did to her. But still, we support him, because everyone is a fool in love and everyone makes mistakes! We even support his arrogance when he tells her, You cant leave me! We stand by him! But the moment Nandini Murthy takes pause and says, Actually, yes! I can and walks away, we start bashing her! And then behold the precap! We see Nandini in an all so human conflict about why she cannot love Dhruv instead, and we just lose patience! Everyone is entitled to their opinions, and dissent is the very essence of a democracy! But I dont understand the hypocrisy with which people accepted Maniks sacrifice tantrum, and yet are unwilling to allow Nandu even a second of self doubt and deep introspection about her feelings! Lets not forget he didnt just lie to her or betray her! He broke her trust, her faith in true love, her belief in fireflies; to the extent that she cant trust her judgements anymore, particularly with him! Yes, she fell for him like a spontaneous downpour in the winter! She gave in to the ethereal chemistry, the goodness hidden beneath his monster charade, that romantic and passionate persona of his! And then he treated her like a pawn and tossed her aside; only to come back to her with that age old cliché called sorry! And she is supposed to just forgive him? I believe she is entitled to this conflict, this confusion, this allegedly cruel behaviour! Despite the perception laid out since the shows beginning that Nandini Murthy can do no wrong, she is a mere mortal, she feels and loves like we all do, she errs and stumbles like us! Yes, she is wise and kind, selfless and compassionate; but she also has self preservation instincts! Love for her is primarily about trust, and this guy shattered her trust and how! Hence, now shes on a journey, to find out why she couldnt simply walk away, why her steps faltered, why she took pause before leaving! And during this journey, she will consider why she loves him, and if the pain and the hurt was worth it! She will fall not like winters spontaneous rain, but like a rivers steady flow in the plains! And I stand by her during this journey of discovery and true forgiveness! I am delighted with this track (MaNan heart ache aside obviously, that hurts)! This track has brought intelligence, reality, and human predicament back to this saga! And Im hopeful we will bear with the characters while they circle around the feelings in their hearts, and find true peace! P.S.: It does no good hating on Niti! She doesnt write the plotlines, she just brings the writers thoughts and words to our screens! The kind of hate shes been receiving since yesterdays episode aired is frankly saddening and totally uncalled for! Lets all be patient and remember its the same Nandini Murthy who prays before going to sleep, who helps even her enemies, who packs a phenomenal right hook, who loves with abandon, and is wise! Shes just having a heart vs mind moment! Bear with her! 😃 And yes, your opinions and comments are very welcome! This was just what I felt after watching the episode and then reading fan reactions! 😄
