Love pretty much all of Charles & Rays work - dont be fooled by the soft spoken voice & bow tie - this guy was a true modernist design pioneer - & his wife Ray (despite looking like a quaker) was a beatnik artist - They designed & built their own machine for forming plywood - Charles background was in architecture & he was thrown off of his course, because his views were too modern - there would be no Ikea or Habitat etc. if it wasnt for the Eames - & they came from an age where cutting edge designers, government & business, all worked together for the common good! - Something that seems unimaginable now!
