Love the video at the end of this article but the whole thing made me think. Our district has done away with letter grades at the elementary level. Our kids now get P for proficient, B for Basic, or BB for Below Basic. In some areas, they can get A for Advanced but it is not possible in most. Since 70 percent is proficient, what does this really tell us? As parents, we need to be even more aware of what is happening on a daily basic in our kids schools. I dont object to the idea of a standards-based report card, just how it is implemented.
