Loving doesnt come with a disclaimer. You dont have to begin the conversation with I love you, but hate this or that about you... And then youre surprised when someone takes offense to it? Its because most of the time the thing you just claimed to hate is a big part of who that person is, and as loving as you intended it to be, it was taken as an attack. Love isnt just about what you give, its also about how its received. When you really love someone you care that they receive what you are giving AS love. How about, loving the person and hating your own sin, or whatever you wish to call it. How about leaving it just at I love you. When you mean it, it stands alone.
