Lowes has proven to me that customer service in big block stores is just an illusion....I am a contractor and at times you are in need of a few items to finish a job and today was an eye opener at the Lowes in North Conway N.H. I was in need of two 8 foot cedar clapboards and they refused to sell them to me, because they did not have a code for single boards and only had a code for a pack of 10....I told the manager its very simple I have two boards from a pack of ten so charge me $19.00...since the pack cost 95.00 .Being in a great hurry to finish the job I went in to Lowes to speed up the completion, what a waste of time it was. I gave the manager a choice , ...lose a customer that comes in here on a daily bases or sell me two boards........she refused. So I left all items in place and drove to a family own business in North Conway Hancock Lumber and was treated with respect and had every item to sell no matter the quanity I needed. Dam Big Blocks....you come in to small towns shuck up business and kill family own businesses and then treat us like cattle... Screw you....And I will keep doing what I believe in support our small business owners in this valley such as ....Chick Lumber, Handcock Lumber, Silverlake Home center....
