Lucky Number 11 Boxcar Junction had a back to back wins this past Thanksgiving weekend at the Esquire Club! The Trio of Lady Killers with their trendy clothes, and take or leave it attitude were entertaining as hell! An instrument is an extension of a musician! Boxcar Junction took a huge hit this last year when the trailer that housed all of their equipment was stolen. Like a house fire it took the hardware, the sense of familiarity, and the memories built upon the foundation that was their band. Setting up for a gig is a ritualistic thing! Every item... every tweak...each member a specific set of responsibilities and personal tactics. Shoulders back, the BAND of brothers chose to rebuild, relearn, and finally reemerge victorious! Stronger than ever lead singer Steve Dowding was in tune with his bass guitar, his voice, and his audience. He has got stamina down pat with his extended version of Walk the Line, & slips easily into a Rock this Town that has a modern twist and old fashion feeling. Mike Blair had the crowd dancing to the beat of the drums! He plays like no one is watching, with such enthusiasm and energy! A detailed sound tech and a true professional, he is a proud musician interested in furthering the career of himself and his band! All smiles and a really friendly guy Rick Senko and his guitar really bring a lot of spirit into the room! He is a strong back up on vocals, and doesnt mind doing a little dancing of his own up there on stage. He makes the transition from Rock, to Romance look effortless! Great Performance Another excellent guest appearance by Eugene Gassi ! He warms the room right up with his Blues and Jazz. It is awesome to watch him throw in a little saxophone solo where you would never expect it! Domenica Braido & Boomer Braido rang in their 11th wedding Anniversary at the Club on Saturday! Having had a nice little chat with both of them, it was touching to realize that they wanted to be together at the Esquire, the very place they had first met one another! Congrats guys! Tammy Semande
