Lulu passed away about an hour ago. She was laying on the deck, out in the fresh air and died peacefully. Lulu will be very missed! She had captured all our hearts and we are all grateful to have had her in our lives. Lulu came to Second Chance on July 1st, 2014. She was taken to the vet and diagnosed with several illnesses but the worst were Ovarian cancer and kidney failure. Lulu had surgery and the cancer was removed. Her kidney issues were much more difficult. Dr. Burke at Knoxville Clinic worked with Lulu and did all he could for her. He let us know that Lulu would require hospice care as there was nothing more they could do for her except keep her comfortable. Julie and Brian Box had been providing a volunteer home for Lulu and wanted to be a hospice home for her. Lulu stole both of their hearts with her big smile! Lulu lived out this past month or so very happy and very loved. Thank you to everyone who participated in caring for precious Lulu. Her presence will not be forgotten! RIP Lulu!
