Luna Banjolele- 8 body- Concert Scale! The banjolele first became popular in the dixieland jazz scene of the early 20th century. It lends itself perfectly to this style of music with a punchy, staccato banjo sound. Many prefer it to the banjo for a bit more warmth and a bit less twang. And, if you wanted a banjo like sound and already play the uke, you can jump right in on the Banjolele! George Harrison was one of the more famous Banjolele players. He wrote some great tunes with the banjo uke. Maybe you will too! :D The reason for the banjo uke, banjo ukulele, banjolele (whichever you prefer) was simple. The ukulele had become very popular, but some people wanted an instrument which would produce more volume. The idea of an instrument about the size of a uke and tuned the same, and with a body like a banjo (but smaller) was a natural. Many styles work great on the banjo uke and this is the best value we have found in the market.
