Lunch time musings are back…. :-) The terrible situation in Israel can be laid at the feet of the Hamas terrorist organization. Israel is acting no different than if the drug cartels in Mexico decided to launch hundreds of rockets and missiles at the USA. Bet your bottom dollar the US Military would be right there. However Washington and the politicians want to spin it; Israel is a sovereign body that has the right, and duty, to defend its territory and citizens. In many ways they have shown more restraint than I thought they would have. The Palestinian citizens living in the Gaza area, broadly speaking, are suffering because of the action of terrorists. If they are harboring or somehow helping Hamas then they deserve the be struck at. No matter the ill will or dislike over the years between Israel and the Palestinians I have no doubt the Israelis are not randomly sending missiles into populated areas. They are striking back where the rockets are coming from. With sadness there are children and innocents are being impacted. I know people who travel often to Israel and spend time there with family. They are not hateful and spiteful people who talk of destroying the Palestinians. They are people who I talk to about hating terrorists and securing peace. I completely understand the FAA not allowing American flights in or out of the Tel Aviv airport. Just last week we wondered why a commercial aircraft was flying over the war zone in the Ukraine. I don’t view it as an anti-Israel action at all. I don’t hate Muslins, Jews, or Christians. I do hate terrorists and wish they would all be blown to bits to meet Allah today and find out the 72 virgins they were promised was all a lie. There are no easy or broad answers to centuries of conflict. Broad and general statements of hate don’t solve it either. As always.. I reserve the right to delete your posts if I find them overly broad or out of context. :-)
