MAINE (One hour to the Portland area) PA – Orthopaedics (WILL TRAIN!) Job Description: Healthcare System seeks to add a full-time Physician Assistant to directly work with a very successful Orthopaedic Surgeon. Previous orthopaedic experience is preferred, but will train a new PA with a strong interest in orthopaedics! The position consists of both the OR and the Clinic. The Doctor handles a strong volume of upper extremity cases. Recent graduates must have completed an orthopaedic rotation. Responsibilities include: First assist (general, trauma and upper extremity cases) Initial evaluations Joint aspirations and injections Pre-op and post-op H&P’s Reductions of fractures and dislocations Write scripts Coordinate with Physical Therapist and ATC’s Ordering tests and evaluate X-ray, CT Scan and MRI Casting and splinting Possibility to run clinics Successful candidate should be certified. Previous orthopaedic experience preferred, but not required! This group would prefer candidates that have ties to the New England area. The PA must have excellent interpersonal skills. The location is within one hour of the Portland, ME area. The area provides great skiing, convenient access to the ocean, a variety of outdoor sporting activities, solid schools, local colleges and a reasonable cost of living. Additionally, there is a full benefits package provided which includes medical, dental, vision, vacation, pension and one week CME (and allowance). There is also paid relocation.
