MAINES first CRESTED CARACARA was discovered last Tuesday (8/26) near the Unity/Benton town line, but was not seen after 9:30 am on 8/27. Amazingly, it was refound yesterday (9/3) 21.23 miles to the west-northwest in Norridgewock. Once again, it was not seen after 6:45am this morning, but the farmer has been seeing the bird since Sunday, 8/31. The saga of (the?) Crested Caracara in the Northeast continues.
