MAJOR CORRECTION TO SUPREMES GOWN HISTORY!!!!! Despite my annual appeals for genuine color photos of these gowns - nothing has ever materialised in 50 years! There are two sets of chiffon tiered gowns from 1964. Known by the fans as the pink MILKSHAKE gowns with 5 tiers and the light blue LAMPSHADE gowns with 4 tiers. Despite Marys declaration that the dresses worn on the December 1964 Ed Sullivan Show were pink and the re-made facsimile in her gown exhibition were re-produced in pink and the monochrome colorized footage distributed as pink and the reproduced costumes in Motown The Musical adopting them as pink. Todays new color photo shows them as light blue! During Dianas televised montage of Supremes clips where she narrates over the Ed Sullivan footage she declared them as the LAMSHADE dresses and stating the color of light blue - we assumed that with all the tangible evidence pointing to them being pink that Diana had made a memory slip! Not at all look at the photo in Flos mirror and there is a 5 tier 1964 LAMPSHDE gown in light blue! Good old Diana shes right - Marys change of history is wrong!
