MAKE TODAY COUNT! update/ Present Merch Tally -Kitty 7/26 hey everyone there may b more merch at the room in no ho, but below is a tally of what i have here in Redondo that came back with me from Femme Fest Deux. This merch managed to still b here thru 3 tours. which is great we came home not completely empty handed… but we are going to need more. We are also going to do a BOGO promotion.. so I am at somepoint going to post current pic of every color, design, etc.. And its only the first 12 people is the current plan so. if u see something there u like that u want, let me kno:) I must give a shout out and say what merch we have ~ we have thanks to our very deasr friends~ Dan Scheele and Phyllis and Larry Hollman. Thank u sooo much. one exciting new beginning, in development~ is echo is going to begin to take a more active role with me in merch and we are really going to try to make some very cute n cool hot topic-y like hkk stuff. merch 1. u have to buy it.. u have to make it. it can’t b poorly constructed or lame or not stylishly so.. just sloppy ~ u thought u knew what u were doing but u r an amateur and fail repeatedly.. more than 1/2 ruined t shirts= bad:( “but i tried” failed attempts end up actually being like throwing money away ~ cus if u do a poor job ~doesn’t matter, unintentionally…it will never sell. And I have good ideas but a lot of my make it yourself stuff i feel is hit or miss. 2. u have to promote it once u have something u solidly want to promote:.. a new song. new pic, new show. coming to your town. so people kno its there/happening to even go look 4 it to pique their interest in it in the first place. the biggest stars in the world, promote. there are lots of people to reach past your friends on facebook… and lots of other mediums to reach them on. If people don’t know about the show, know nothing about the band, don’t kno the key selling points to even know why they r stupid lame if they don’t come see your bad ass band~ how can anyone b dissapointed if as many peeps as they’d like don’t come, if people didn’t even kno. We have to find effective ways.. to get the word out. like a good ol boy network;) ~Does anyone have any input on this or recommend someone they use or have used that actually really does their job and u know they made a difference, cus they had a vision:) it would make sense that if u want to sell this as: trendy cool ~not lame~ 1 of its kind ~made by the band 3. the store has to b cool, well set up.. attractive to the eye and easy to shop in. Creating a positive easy enjoyable.. shopping experience with quality merchandise leads to: return customers. Echo +I… r really gonna shop around for some cool things to play with at the Fashion Markets in Downtown LA and come up with cool plans to make cool prototypes which we will show u as we complete.. to see what u think and get your feedback:) we r very excited about seeing what we can come up with together, cus like Aredale, together we can:) Story: One day on the way home from Femme Fest Leg 2 Wendy bought a book at a rest stop called something to the point of Make Today Count. I have, in the past, read a lot of self help ish type books But I haven’t been self helping it lately. And then I thought to myself.. That Wendy. She’s so smart. She’s so hard working. She’s resourceful. she’s a do it yourself-er She’s a smart Cookie! I would like to pull together my little team and make it bigger. I want to get more people involved in more things that: they are good at and would excel in and would enjoy doing and maybe even could help make a difference in the whole future of HKK and maybe even in their own lives.. just by you brainstorming today.. what am i good at? how can i help? Echo. has great style. So. if i got Cat class..& she got Cat Style.. well. sounds like the beginning of something worthy of promoting. So. stay tuned for hopefully the humble beginnings of hkk’s brand new yet to b named clothing line. yay. Echo and I will also be doing an editing session this coming monday and tuesday with my old roommate Jeff, who is a brilliant audio & video editor, of the 5 so-far taped episodes of “One Band Army” hoping to get to a sizzle reel we are really proud of to shop.. which we already have interest in, from the head of a major network..once completed. Well, no time like the present:) Make Today Count I will be also working on recording vocals for some of the new demos for Sacrifice, our new LP, of which we are also…very proud of… the way it is turning out.. We are planning on recording more when Cordell returns home from the UKJ European 2 week run he just left on today. HKK did 2 US tours and 1 European tour.. Well UKJ played Wisconsin end of june then muskegon 4th of july weekend. And now Mr Pookie is goin back to Europe. Left today for Heathrow. He is the hardest working musician I know:) So, below is the merch tally. And so I leave u with this: Much like the book, Make Today Count.. here’s a few tongue in cheek examples;) If u were my good friend Xian at Pickworld, based on these #’s, if u should happen to perceive, in your expert opinion:) we could use some more of something~ u might have time to someday whenever print it ~now that u know we need it.. n send us a few things we r low on to supplement.. that’d b so rad. like christmas in august:) We give them out everywhere and the stickers and the t shirts and swear by your guitar pix:) if u were echo. u might b excited that the sky is the limit on what we can create if we try. if u r jeff, u may b thinking.. everything in my life has been a dress rehearsal for what I am about to create with “One Band Army” ~which also ties in to “Do Something Good” Its kind of like the “juke box hero” of video editing. Tell the story in a way that elicits emotion from the viewer. we laugh. we cry. we learned something. we had fun n made new friends while doing it. we can’t wait to see what happens next week so we can do it all again:) And show things real more than sugar coated. The Army is real. People die. Giving their life for a noble cause. Freedom. Liberty. Equality. One Band Army is about a band who cares. A group of friends with a purpose. Traveling Troubadours. To make a difference in the world and help those in need with music as the common thread. One Love= Music. Together. We can change the world. And if u r anybody else reading this.. I, kitty…challenge u.. How can u Make Today Count? for yourself for others for HKK. Little things. Mean a lot. Wanna b on our street team wherever u live?
