MALAGA WEATHER UPDATE Sunday 30th March 2014: Reminder time folks!!!.......Did you remember that those clocks should have changed in the wee hours last night so dont forget to adjust all those clocks!!!.......Yes, its a forward 1 hour motion so you lost an hour in bed!!!........Just what you need on a Sunday morning, but as a form of compensation, today should be mainly sunny. There is an increased risk of showers this afternoon but as a result of a sudden change in the way our weather moved over the last couple of days, tomorrow is looking reasonable as well!!!......BUT!!!.....Theres that big But back again!!!.........Tuesday is looking very much like 50 shades of Grey!!!....Now before all you girls get too excited, I am referring to the weather and the colour of the sky!!!.......It is going to be a grey day, perhaps that sun breaking through by the afternoon, with showers highly likely.......If you do see the sun it will merely be leading you to a false sense of better weather to come!!!.......Trust me when I say its the opposite!!!.......Wednesday that EARLY LFWW WEATHER WARNING is upon you and we are expecting to see alerts issued for rain and perhaps those winds as the day progresses and moves into Thursday........Now Thursday we could see sun in places again but those winds will be high, rain is likely and eventually we expect the sun to become covered again as we proceed into darkness and onto Friday and another grey day with that rain again........but, (its a small but this time!!!) the weekend should be a brightening experience with mainly sunshine and back to reasonable weather..........Now, how about a bit of weather edumacation???........Mackerel sky and mares tails make tall ships carry low sails!!!...........This weather proverb originates from a nautical background when differing cloud types were used to determine whether sails needed to be lowered. Also referred to as just a mackerel sky, it is associated with altocumulus clouds whilst mares tails refer to cirrus clouds. Both can develop before the onslaught of a storm and therefore would lead to the lowering of the ships sails. Altocumulus clouds appear when there is a certain level of moisture in the air suggesting rainfall is approaching. The term mackerel sky comes from the clouds resemblance to the the scales of the mackerel fish!!!......Now hows that for a Sunday morning read???........Have a good day peeps and bear one thing in mind when that inclement weather comes round again in the week........Never test the depth of a puddle with two feet!!!.........Jim Fraser reporting live for the Local Fire & Weather Watch Network :)
