MAN SHOT BY TROOPER IN AROOSTOOK COUNTY from Maine State Police: State Police say a trooper shot and killed a man Sunday afternoon in an armed confrontation in the Aroostook County Town of Ludlow. Dead is 52 year old Alan Gillotti Sr of Ludlow. He was shot by Sgt Joshua Haines outside a mobile home on the Smyna Townline Rd. As is standard with all police involved shootings, the Maine Attorney Generals Office is investigating and the trooper has been placed on administrative leave with pay. Troopers had gone to Gillottis home investigating an armed home invasion in Houlton earlier in the day.
