► MANAGER - COMMUNITY LAND ACCESS & MANAGEMENT Barrick (Papua New Guinea) Limited, the operator of the Porgera Mine, is part of the Barrick Gold Corporation group of companies which has interests in mines in Australia, the Porgera mine in Papua New Guinea and exploration interests throughout the region. Barrick seek to appoint a Manager – Community Land Access and Management to coordinate and facilitate Land Administration and Relocation for the Porgera Operations. Duties and responsibilities: • Efficient management of land access and management activities including acquisition of land for mining purposes, the administration of all existing leases and easements, the relocation and compensation of landowners affected by the Porgera operations, and management of lands-related grievances • Specific responsibilities include: i) strategic planning, project management, reporting and budget control, ii) development, implementation and monitoring of systems, processes and procedures that ensure activities are carried out on a timely and consistent basis iii) management and development of staff including land officers and technical staff. • Develop and implement plans for future resettlemet within the boundaries of the Barrick Porgera resettlement framework. To be suitable for this role, you will possess the following: • Recognised tertiary qualifications pertaining to land administration / land resettlement / human geography and / or community development • Experience with international best practice in land access and management in the mining industry including involuntary resettlement and thepreparation of Relocation Action Plans • Demonstrated international experience in design, planning and implementation of resettlement programs, preferably in the extractive industry and in a Melanesian/Pacific context • Project management qualifications and / or experience in managing large multi-million dollar projects • Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement generally and specifically in undertaking negotiations with traditional communities to achieve mutually acceptable outcomes under complex socio-cultural conditions • The ability to coach, mentor and train supervisors across multiple disciplines to a high standard • The ability and willingness to train and develop national employees • Current Drivers Licence. This position offers a competitive salary package in line with qualifications and experience.
