MANDERA COUNTY YOUTH ARE CONTINUALLY BEING DENIED WHAT THEY RIGHTFULLY AND LAWFULLY DESERVE. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, WE CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE!! I am collecting the complaints and the views of the youth of Mandera County about how Mandera County Government fared on the following issues; 1. COUNTY GOVERNMENT RECRUITMENT PROCESS- Many unqualified and undeserving youths were employed and offered vacancies at the expense of the qualified and deserving youths. Jobs were shared amongst the families of the top political and business brass. The qualified youths are today jobless while the unqualified who got the jobs through political connections are enjoying the fruits of their political correctness. 2. COUNTY GOVERNMENT PROJECTS FUNDING- Many in the Executive Committee and Top County Administration members of are Funding Projects that suit their interests political-wise and financial-wise. That hasnt gone down well with hundreds of youths who feel they deserve to be awarded projects at the wards and town levels. 3. COUNTY GOVERNMENT PROCUREMENT- The County government procurement has been a mess!! Am telling you it was a real mess. Corruption, nepotism and clan factors were considered in the procurement of services and projects for the county government. In violation of the Public Procurement and Disposal Preference and Amendments Regulations 2013 the 30% public procurement provision set aside for the youth was also violated. In Mandera County all the projects were awarded to companies owned by relatives, friends and cronies of the political and business class that have turned the county into A private club for a few. Companies owned by youth which were qualified both technically and financially were sidelined and denied the procurement opportunities that they too deserved in the same way the politicians and the business class deserved those procurement opportunities. In relation to the 3 County Government issues raised above, there was also one emergent issue that affected many youths at the Constituency levels in the 6 Constituencies of Mandera County. Below was the raised issue; CDF Procurement Processes- The CDF Projects were given to the cronies, allies and families of the top political and business brass. That was very unfair, many deserving youths were denied the projects that they had the capacity to handle. THE YOUTH OF MANDERA COUNTY, WHAT IS THE WAY FORWARD NOW?? If you are a Mandera County youth ask yourself the Questions; Why on earth should everything in Mandera County be politicized and turned into something that always affects the youths of Mandera County?? Why do politicians always unite when there are opportunities that serve their interests and then use us to campaign and vote for them without us benefiting from the opportunities that they too benefit from? Hell no!! It cant continue like this forever. For how long are we gonna continue watching us being denied what we rightfully deserve?? Be it Jobs, County Projects, County Procurement or CDF Projects, why is it that the youth are always on the receiving end? If those questions sink well into your mind, then it is the high time you stood up and fought the injustice. The more Mandera County Youths keep silent, the more they will continue being sidelined, marginalized and denied opportunities that they rightfully deserve. We will collectively have to come together, share our views, opinions, real experiences and evidences. The way forward will be to ashame the devils of Corruption, Nepotism and Clannism and in one way or another bring to an end the following raised issues that have affected thousands of Mandera County Youths.
