MARCH PRAYER GUIDE MARCH 18 – READ EPHESIANS 2:3-5. Couple things to note. First the claim that ‘I have always been a Christian’ is simply – except from the mouth of Jesus – an impossibility. All of us lived in, all of us followed, all of us desired, craved and gratified the longings of death. Now some may have entered into life at a very early age and stage – perhaps easily, without drama or trauma. But there’s still for all in life, a crossing point – out of death into that life. There was a place, a moment, a time when ‘God made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in our transgressions.’ Thank God for the moment where you encountered and received and were made alive with Christ by grace. (Yes, thank him now.) And if you never have or are fuzzy if you have – take a moment now and seal the deal. Recognize your need. If your eyes have been opened that is a gift – receive it. Acknowledge your need, ask and receive His grace and live. Now note the bridge. Dead in sin. Alive with Christ. How does that happen? What force can do such a thing? What power could pull it off!?? Read verse 4 – because of His great love for us God… Okay – sit right here. Let that in. Let that wash over you. Let that grip your heart, stir your soul, reconfigure your image of God. Then pray. Add to your prayers this prayer – walk through your world, your circumstances, relationships, your work and workplace, your marriage, your struggles, your home, etc. – if ‘because of His great love’ He could and did pluck you from death and establish you in life – what else might He do in you and through you ‘because of His great love?’ Think about it. Then pray.
