MARIGAT WARD TO HOLD A PEACEFUL DEMO IN KABARBET OVER UNFAIR RESOURCE ALLOCATION By Nick Kiptoon Ahead of the county budget reading today, residents of Marigat Ward, Baringo South Sub county, especially those from Kiponjos,Tuluongoi, Moigutwo, Sogon, Senetwo and Kabirmet locations are set to hold a peaceful protest 10am today against a looming discrimination in the 2014/15 budgetary allocations if the budget is to be approved the way it is now. The residents, led by their area leaders including chiefs, pointed out that from the draft budget, that is in the public domain and set to be tabled in the parliament, their locations and sub locations have been left out with Kimalels Koriema Sub Location getting more than half of the entire wards development fund allocation. From the tally on the draft document, Kimalel Location alone got about Ksh. 33M of the possible Ksh. 67.2M development money in the entire Ward. The deputy Governor Mathew Tuitoek, Ward Administrator Obeta Sirma and the area MCA Isaiah Bown are now on the spotlight following this foreseen discrepancy.
