We are seeking applications from organisations who have a good track record of engaging with 18-24 year old unemployed people in their local community and/or in specific target groups within Greater Manchester. In particular, we are keen to receive applications from organisations that recruit and support young people who are not currently engaging with mainstream services or programmes. This main commissioning round follows on from our successful pilot earlier in the year. The application form and detailed supporting information can be found on the following website link, along with dates of briefing sessions which those intending to apply are encouraged to attend. gmcvo.org.uk/organisations-invited-host-talent-coaches Deadline for applications is 9.00am on Monday 15th September 2014. Please would you also forward this e-mail to other organisations you are aware of who you think might be interested in making an application. 2.3 The Prince’s Trust Team – Community Project Opportunities The Prince’s Trust Team Programme based at The Manchester College’s Fallowfield site is currently looking for worthwhile projects in the community for its students to complete. Perhaps there’s a local youth club or community centre in need of refurbishment or an area of land or community garden that could do with a makeover -Whatever it is our students would consider it. Not only will they plan and carry out the manual work they will also raise the funds needed to purchase any materials/equipment needed. The community project aspect of the programme begins in week 3 of the course which will be week commencing 6th October 2014 and continues for 4 weeks until 31st October. The format would be as follows: Any organisations, groups etc. interested in securing the services of the team would need to put together a ‘proposal’ and present it to the young people. They would then discuss the merits of each proposal before coming to a final team decision. This enables the young people to be involved from the beginning and encourages ownership of the project. We would like to hear any proposals during week 3 with the final decision being made on 10th October. As Im sure you can appreciate this offer generates a lot of enquiries so early confirmations of proposal delivery would avoid disappointment. If you are aware of any groups in the community who would benefit from this service please do not hesitate to contact myself on one of the numbers below or via email. The Prince’s Trust Team Programme is a 12 week personal development programme aiming to equip local young people aged between 16-25 with the skills, qualities and confidence needed to progress into employment or education. We are still recruiting for our next Team programme which begins on the 22nd September so if you know any 16-25 yr olds who you feel may benefit from joining us, please let me know.
