MARKET SUMMARY Market closed higher at the end of today’s trades, as Broad Market Index gained 0.41% to close @ 36,585.08 points, compared with the appreciation of 0.77% recorded last Friday. Year-to-Date (YTD) return of the NSE ASI currently stands at 30.29%. The rise in the Index could be attributed to gains recorded in the share prices of some large cap stocks such as: Lafarge WAPCO, Guinness, Zenith Bank, Access Bank, and NBL. Market Capitalization also appreciated by 0.41% to close at N11.65trn (US$74.82bn) compared with the appreciation of 0.77% recorded last Friday to close at N11.61trn (US$74.51bn). The total value of trades was N3.04bn, up 75.29% from N1.73bn recorded last Friday. The total volume traded was 279.16mn in 3,310 deals. The 3 most traded stocks were: Transcorp (121.87mn), UBA (25.83mn) and ETI (21.82mn) while the most actively traded sectors were Financial Services (123.77mn), Conglomerates (118.88mn) and Consumer Goods (21.82mn).
