HUNTER DENTAL CLINIC APPOINTMENT AVAILABILITY, Today: Dental Clinic #3 on Hunter Army Airfield will be open for sick call from 7:40-8:40 a.m. and will have limited patient care until 10:30 a.m. and will remain closed for the rest of the day. If any Soldier has a dental please report to Winn Army Community Hospital Emergency Room and the Dentist on Duty (DOD) will be called. ENGINEER QUALIFICATION AREA DEDICATION, Monday: The Engineer Qualification Area will be dedicated to Thomas D. Houston, Jr. 10 a.m. Monday on Fort Stewart. Arrive at Evans Field at 0900 for Bus Transportation to Ceremony. Houston, a lifelong community resident and selfless servant who spent 53 years of his life, was dedicated to the U. S. Army and Team Stewart as a Soldier, a Department of the Army Civilian, a State Cooperator and as a local historian. He was the catalyst for much of the infrastructure that supports Soldiers, their Families, and the local community here today. Uniform is Duty Uniform/Business Casual. There will be a MANDATORY CHECK FIRE, 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., for the Small Arms Loop including blank and live fire, the OP line - any artillery fire, mortars, etc. FS 144 will be closed at the intersection of FS 50 and at the entrance of FS 144 off of GA Hwy 144. WOMEN MENTORSHIP PROGRAM, (Aug. 1 Sign-up Deadline) Aug 26 Kickoff: The EEO Office and Special Emphasis Program Committee launches a pilot mentoring Program for Women in conjunction with Women’s Equality Day, Aug. 26. The six-month Female-to-Female mentoring opportunity (Sept. 1 to Feb. 28) allows for professional development of carefully matched mentoring pairs. The goal is to establish relationships between senior and mid/junior grade female employees to develop well-rounded motivated female employees capable of being integrated into senior level positions. It allows for career exploration, feedback on goals-setting, and an opportunity to gain different perspectives of the Garrison’s mission. Eligibility requirements for mentors: Be a Federal Female employee (GS 12 or NAF equivalent, or above); or for mentees to be a Federal Female employee (GS 11 or NAF equivalent, or below). WINN BABY EXPO, Aug. 16: The staff and volunteers of Winn Army Community Hospital will host the 4th Annual “Winn Army Community Baby Expo” to benefit those in the 3rd Infantry Division and the local community who are currently pregnant, recently given birth, or are planning to become pregnant. The “Baby Expo” is designed to increase awareness of the important free prenatal education and other resources that are available within our community for individuals during their pregnancy and postpartum period. This will take place throughout the 1st floor of Winn Army Community Hospital 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The highlights for this event include approximately 40 different and specialized information booths, free admission, free education, and door prizes. DESIGNATED UNIT SECURITY MANAGERS COURSE AVAILABLE, Aug 19-21: IAW FORSCOM Supplement 1 to 380-5, referencing Designated Unit Security Managers, each battalion/activity is required to appoint a DUSM on orders. The DPTMS Security Division SETA Branch conducts a 3 day Security Managers Course to prepare individuals to take on the role of DUSM. The next course is Aug 19-21. ANTI-TERRORISM MONTH, August: August is Antiterrorism Month.
