MARRIAGE AND FAMILY - THIS IS ALL IT IS ABOUT 1. There are highly successful husbands and there are highly available husbands Though I would choose to be highly available over being highly successful any day It is, for your familys sake, to be as available as you are successful 2. There are stable wives and there are adventurous wives Though most husbands I know would choose an adventurous wife over a stable mate It is, for the sake of your marriage and family, to be as adventurous as you are stable 3. A would-be-husband asked me:Pastor, should I look for a beautiful wife or a spiritual wife? I answered, Who said a beautiful wife cannot be spiritual? But then I just wonder - if the devil comes in at night, would a pretty face keep him away? 4. There is also the issue of young women trapped between a super fit and super rich man My answer is simple: I wonder if there are many six-pack-six-figure-salary men out there But even if there were, a six figure salary pays the bill far more than a six pack abdo would 5. A young lady asked: Do I need a praying husband over a hard worker? I answered: If he truly prays he shall work and if he really works hell know he needs prayer Doesnt the Bible plainly say Faith without works is dead? 6. A wife seeker is confused: Do I choose a housewife or career woman? I answered: Son, houses dont need wives and careers dont have wives either Truth is: You need a woman for yourself and together you decide how you and she operate 7. Do you know that there is no verse in the Bible that defines who does the chores at home? But there are several verses that show the greatness in serving others Didnt Lord Jesus wash their feet and clean the temple out when He rid it of spiritual dirt? 8. I would choose a wife with common sense over an academic with no discretion any day If I were a woman, I would choose a handy man over a handsome man any hour of the day I would choose a small house with laughter over a cold mansion any week of the month 9. It is said, for you health - breakfast is the most important meal of the day I say, for your marriage and family - supper is; when you eat together in the same room! I will forever cherish the laughter, stupid jokes and incredible stories around this time with my wife and children, just before we share the Word of God and pray together! This sounds more powerful and more important than a healthy breakfast to me! 10. Do we play more or pray more as family?, the anxious spouse asked It is up to you, I answered, but my wife and I pray together as much as we play together Somehow, this balance has kept us together for almost three decades now! 10.1. IT IS ALL ABOUT WISDOM 10.2. IT IS ALL ABOUT DISCRETION 10.3. IT IS ALL ABOUT BALANCE 10.4. IT IS ALL ABOUT FUN, EXCITEMENT AND ADVENTURE 10.5. IT IS ALL ABOUT PUTTING GOD AT THE CENTRE OF IT 10.6. IT IS ALL ABOUT LEAVING GOOD MEMORIES FOR YOUR WIFE AS SHE STANDS OVER YOUR GRAVE AND SAYS - HERE LIES A GOOD MAN! MY BEST FRIEND AND HERO 10.7. IT IS ALL ABOUT LEAVING CHILDREN WITH BOTH GOOD MEMORIES AND A LEGACY, NOT WITH TOYS, GADGETS AND LOTS OF MONEY 10.8. IT IS ALL ABOUT LOOKING BACK AND SAYING TO YOURSELF - PRAISE THE LORD, I ONCED LIVED! I ONCE WAS MARRIED! I ONCE HAD CHILDREN! Todays Meditation Ecclesiastes 12 1 Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them”— 2 before the sun and the light and the moon and the stars grow dark, and the clouds return after the rain; 3 when the keepers of the house tremble, and the strong men stoop, when the grinders cease because they are few, and those looking through the windows grow dim; 4 when the doors to the street are closed and the sound of grinding fades; when people rise up at the sound of birds, but all their songs grow faint; 5 when people are afraid of heights and of dangers in the streets; when the almond tree blossoms and the grasshopper drags itself along and desire no longer is stirred. Then people go to their eternal home and mourners go about the streets. 6 Remember him—before the silver cord is severed, and the golden bowl is broken; before the pitcher is shattered at the spring, and the wheel broken at the well, 7 and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it. 8 “Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher. “Everything is meaningless!” The Conclusion of the Matter 9 Not only was the Teacher wise, but he also imparted knowledge to the people. He pondered and searched out and set in order many proverbs. 10 The Teacher searched to find just the right words, and what he wrote was upright and true. 11 The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails—given by one shepherd. 12 Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them. Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body. 13 Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. 14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. Our commitment remains: BY GODs GRACE - TOGETHER BUILDING, SAVING AND REVIVING ONE MORE FAMILY, ROMANCE AND MARRIAGE A DAY AT A TIME! PEACE
