MAYOR UPDATE: Mayor Ann Campbell remains in critical condition at Mary Greeley Medical Center after suffering a cardiac arrest Tuesday morning. She was taken to the hospital via ambulance and underwent a procedure to relieve a coronary blockage. Campbell’s family expressed thanks for the support they have received and stressed the uncertainty of the situation. “We have spent the better part of the last 36 hours with our mom, and her condition remains critical. We are comforted to know that from the time of the incident though the present, she has received the best and most advanced care we could hope for,” said Brian Campbell, the Mayor’s son. “As treatment proceeds, we hope that we will continue to see progress. We know we are in a time of uncertainty. As the doctors caution, every individual responds differently and it is too early to make a prognosis. We are guardedly optimistic and relying on the expertise of the medical staff at Mary Greeley. We are so appreciative of the entire community.” As a patient in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, Mayor Campbell is unable to receive visitors, phone calls, or flowers. As the Mayor’s condition evolves, additional information will be released.
