MCSGOC’s IT status as an e-Governance Campus It’s great pleasure to inform you that Dr. M.C. Saxena Group of Colleges’ campus has been selected among the top five e- governance campuses nationally by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) through an engineering watch. Dr. M.C. Saxena Group of institutions is founded by me under the aegis of Society for the Advancement of Environmental Sciences. The Group of Colleges are spread over 30 acres of area. These are situated at IIM-Dubagga Bypass road and comprise of five colleges in the field of Technology, Management, Pharmacy, Education and Medical Sciences. These institutions are approved by AICTE/NCTE/PCI and affiliated to G.B. Technical University and Lucknow University. IT services at Dr. M.C. Saxena Group of colleges has all aspects of IT for students, faculty, staff and the citizens. IT applications on campus include LIBSYS library automation software, DELNET membership, Website at (mcsgoc), I-cloud campus using an ERP tool FEDENA for students and faculty. The IT Infrastructure includes two blade high capacity IBM and Xenon servers, Centralized CCTV surveillance system over Internet/Mobile/Wi-Fi, Leased Line internet connection with 25 Mbps connection. One router and more than 50 switches, 24x7 Wi-Fi services, 700+ computer systems for CS/IT labs and office work and 7 online UPS with maximum 15 KVA. There are 10 labs for various subjects of CS/IT streams and Communication lab. Software in all labs include: MATLAB, LISP, CATIA, AUTOCAD, PRO E, Java, MySQL, Turbo C/C++, MS Office, MS Visual Studio, DREAM WEAVER, SQI Server 2010, Oracle 10g, MS Project, Windows 8, Windows XP, Linux, CAD/CAM, Microsoft Visio, Orcad. Communication lab uses ipro. Our exemplary use of technology in the office includes two biometric attendance systems and financial reporting and accounting system: Tally9. The most famous IT project is Aadhaar, which is aimed at providing a unique ID to each Indian through the application of genetic characters attributed to each individual. The display of the same is the biggest tribute to IT. The society is entrusted with the task of covering a large segment of Delhi territory. Other projects include Digitalization of database for ground water; Assessment of Quality Problem Villages in District Lakhimpur, Etawah, Firozabad and Mathura; Construction and design services (UP Jal Nigam sponsored Project) and Digitalization of database for National Rural Employment Guarantee Act. We have organized a 3D-mapping show projecting the new trends of animations using IT as a tool, in various malls of Lucknow. The rare IT facilities created at MCSGOC are finding applications to almost all national and international agencies including MNC’s to serve their clientele. We have organized various online examinations related to governmental bodies in our campus like Satvat Infosol online exams for Rehabilitation Council of India, Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited, Bharat Earth Movers Limited etc; APTECH for Rashtriya Chemicals and fertilizers, AICTE-CMAT, RCF, CMAT and UPSC; TCS Online Exam for IBPS, CBI (IBPS), UCO Bank, SBI, GATE, CWE-LIC, JEE, Canara Bank, UII Bank, Bank of Baroda, Jal Nigam, RBI, SEBI,Awas VIkash etc.; Think Computers for GATE and BITS Pilani; Siffy for Biotech Scholarship Program and Prometric for CAT. Various seminars, conferences and workshops have been organized in our college to impart world-standard IT education to our students, including National Conference on Role of IT in Education, Medicine, Industry and Engineering by Smt. Kanti Devi (Union Ministry of State, Govt. Of India, 2007), One day seminar on Ethical Hacking by Ankit Fadia, Cloud Computing seminar by TCS-ION delegates and workshop by HCL Gurgaon and Seminar on E-security and Cyber Security (PNBIT Lucknow). Besides this, students are assigned projects related to IT, it’s application and futuristic trends. We have a state of the art IT centre (registered as MCS Services) with 1000 computers with facilities of video-conferencing which is serving the growing field of IT/ITES/BPO and Engineering services.
