ME PATIENTLY WATCHING THE GEOLOGRAPH AT THE TRANSUE 26-5 WELL. This device keeps track of the drilling depth which is reflected on the counter at the top of the unit. Every time one foot of hole is cut, the Geolograph makes one of the slant...ed marks you see on the chart paper, on the right hand side. The Geolograph also has a clock within it, and the distance between the slanted marks, represents the time it took to drill from one foot to the next. The closer the marks are together, the faster that last foot shown, drilled. This is important to watch. In most cases, rocks at depth need to have good porosity to retain or store the Oil in an Oil reservoir. Rocks with good porosity tend to be softer and/or "crunchy", and so when you hit a zone with an area of good porosity, you will typically see several feet drill faster than the ones prior. These would show up as a cluster of slanted marks very close together. When I made this video, we were still above the J zone and drilling a foot every 3-4 minutes. This would indicate tight or hard rock at depth. After the video, we drilled a 2 minute foot, a 1 minute foot, and a 2 minute foot, right at the top of the J zone. This would tend to indicate an area that could have sufficient porosity to give up some fluid, and from my other post, you can see an examination of the samples confirmed this as a good show. We will see what we get
