MEDICAL BULLETIN UPDATE 2a CT Scan i was awaken last from my slumber by the nurse who came to see me and inform me she had an order i am scheduled for CT scan this morning. she has asked several queries from a questionnaire she was bringing. i had questions myself... first, for what? and on whose order? none of my attending physicians... primary or otherwise told me about this. second, does my sister, dr. imee (inday to us) kniw about this? third, i have. limitations / restrictions regarding this procedure... limited fluid intake and the use of contrast (no dye). the order came from the resident doctor of the surgery department. i texted my sister, inday, if she new about it. she texted me back and told me she knows nothing about it and that she would be calling dr. catipay, my urologist. it is most unlikely it is ultimately my kidney specialist ordering it... dr. danny yu, my nephrologist is in manila and is returning today. i am anticipating his telling me about the result of the urine culture& sensitivity. the nurse came to my room very early in the morning telling me that, according to the resident doctor, it is dr. catipay who wanted it done. two other resident doctors of my medical team came one after the other and told me ahead of dr. danny yu that the bacteria causing the infection is categorized ESBL... a very potent bacteria... and that the IV antibiotic administered to me is even more potent... everything is under control! the CT scan is deferred... as of now! thanks be to god!
