MEMORIES OF BROTHER REINHART - Sometime this week I imagine that we will gather together to say good-bye to Brother Raymond Reinhart , a long standing member of the Minneapolis church and one of my favorite people in the whole world. Raymond and Marjorie were two of the most consistent people in my life. We would always run into them on Saturdays at the old Better Book Room downtown Wichita. One of my most favorite memories of Raymond other than His unfailing faith was one year at Camp Meeting Raymond was overseeing the dish room in the camp kitchen. ..somehow my sister Becky & I ended up with KP duty ..not sure how that happened since we never did anything wrong ;) ;) ;) but nevertheless as people were coming up putting their metal trays through the slats for us to spray off with the hose and put through the dishwasher Brother Reinhart saw Marjorie head up to empty her tray and he instructed Becky to spray her with the hose when she walked by ...we of course looked at him like he was nuts because we knew our Mom would get on to us big time if we sprayed any of the older people ...but he convinced us it would be okay and so we sprayed Sister Reinhart through the tray slats much to his enjoyment . He just hid behind the dishwasher and laughed. He made even dishes fun. I am reminded as more and more of the saints are making their last journey home of a story that I heard when my Mom passed. The passing of our loved ones and heroes in the faith can be described as watching a ship reach and pass beyond the horizon where it is gone from our sight and we who are left on this side of heaven are left to say there they go but we are reminded that they are only gone from our sight for that moment and I believe ...no I know that this is true of Brother Raymond there are those just beyond our earthly sight that are waiting for us and they see Brother Reinharts ship approaching heavens shore and they are rejoicing and saying Here he comes ! ...Days like these make heaven just that more real to me. Well done thy good and faithful Servant
