MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT Our January Program, the Malawi Census, showed how dedicated conservationists and the tireless help of many volunteers can overcome decades of habitat destruction and create a vibrant refuge for both animals and people. The February program, Creating a Bird Friendly Texas: Audubon Urban Conservation, will bring this closer to home. We often think of habitat revitalization as taking place in remote or far-away places when it is actually right outside our back door. Please join us to see what you can do to make a difference in your own neighborhood. Talking about tireless volunteers, your Audubon Chapter owes its success solely to the people who are willing to give their time and energy furthering the Audubon mission. We will elect new officers at our April Program meeting. The term for an officer begins on June 1 and ends on May 31. It is a very rewarding commitment.
