MICHAH AND DAVIDS FALL OF THEIR FRIENDSHIP. I want to take you back to the pathetic story of the culmination of one of the worlds most important friendships. It was the relationship that existed between a king and a Queen. She was the kings daugther. He was a humble shephered boy when first they met. Their friendship developed into love. Once she lied to her father to save his life. When it came to the conflicting loyalties between the youth and her father, the youth won. She loved the young man. As years passed he was elavated to the kingdom and the kings daughter became a kings wife. Her husband so admired her that he jeopardised his life in a needless cruel war to get the consent of her father to wed her. And he refused to accept his kingdom until he could have his wife by his side. You have now suspected the names of the king and queen: DAVID AND MICHAL in the bible. Later their friendship was broken by; 1.HASTE.- Michal was to hasty in repremanding the king. She might have waited until he was in the house. David was not slow with his resort. They both spoke too soon. Haste makes waste, when it comes to rebuking others. 2.EMBARRASSMENT.- david forgot his wifes feelings. She was the kings daughter, and was brought up in the diginity and culture of the palace. He should lack of consideration for her, and she ignored the strenuous ordeal through which david passed. He was tired. She told him that he had made himself cheap, and he reminded her that she was the daughter of a rejected royal family. He humiliated her by act and word. There can be no friendship where one persists in embarracing the other. 3. NAGGING.- She nagged David. No man will ever live with a nagging woman, not even a king. She began to altercate before he had seated himself in his house. Bickering will break all friendships. 4.PRIDE.- They hurt each others pride. David was forced to defend himself to save his face, and she was told that she was not in a position to talk about people of lower rank. Pride goeth before a friendships fall. 5.FORGETFULNESS.-David forgot that once Michal saved his life. She forgot that David would not accept his kingdom until she was restored to him. Do not forget the tender hands that nursed you back from sickness to health, nor the sacrifices that a friend has made on your behalf. 6.MISUNDERSTANDING.- It was all a misunderstanding. David did not think that he was offending her, and he was sincere in his purpose. She thought he was attempting to be spectacular, and she was sincere , too, in her criticism. It was all a misunderstanding. What they needed was patience and understanding, and not sharp words. If you would have friends, be slow with words until you give your friends an opportunity to explain themselves.
