MIGRANT PROTEST IN ISRAEL: Hundreds of African migrants staying in the Holot detention centre in Israel’s Negev Desert marched out of the centre towards the Egyptian border on June 27. When they were turned back by the Israel Defense Forces, they set up camp close to the border. The refugees, mostly from Sudan and Eritrea, entered their second day of protest on Sunday; they refused to return to the detention centre.
