MISS BAGASUMBUL 2013 2013 SEARCH GUIDELINES A. OBJECTIVES : The annual search for Miss Bagasumbul is one of the highlights of the yearly town fiesta of Naval. Bagasumbul is the old name of Naval before it became a municipality. The search aims to promote Naval as a tourist destination in Biliran and a haven for investors and entrepreneurs. It is also an opportunity to showcase the best practices and traditions of Navaleṅos including their diversed culture characterized with their strong faith in God and their ability to survive in times of uncertainties. B.GUIDELINES: 1. The search is open to all ladies between 16 to 24 years of age, single with good moral character. It is open even to non- residents of Naval. 2. Only eight contestants shall be accepted in a first come , first serve basis. Out of 8 there shall only be three finalists, the Miss Bagasumbul ( ₱10,000.00), the first runner up( 7,000.00)and the second runner up (P 5,000.00 ).There will be special awards or citations to be given to the candidates such as Best in Swimwear, Sportswear, Evening Gown , Talents, casualwear and other awards. Only trophies shall be given to the winners of the special awards. Cash awards for the Magic 3 should be given directly to their respective handlers. 3. Aspiring contestants should comply the following requirements: a. Bio Data b. 2 pcs. 2x2 picture ( 1- bio data; 1 – the power point and tarpaulin) Deadlines for the submission of entries will be on September 10, 2013. The candidate should be accompanied by her handler in submitting the requirements. They should look for Hon. Ofelia TablaEspina , the chairman of the search committee or Mr. Benjamin Medallo, the Pageant Director. 4. The handler/sponsors is responsible in providing make ups, accessories, gowns and logistics of his own candidate except for the swimwear which will be provided by the search committee. 5. Candidates will be judged according to the following criteria: Beauty( projection, poise, figure )- 40 % Intelligence - 20% Costumes - 20% Talent - 10% Audience Impact- 10% Total - 100% 6. For special awards , they will be judged in the scale of 1- 10, where 10 is the highest point. All points given by the judges shall be summed up in order to get the total average score of each contestant. 7. Once the Magic 3 arechosen, the three finalists will go back to zero and their previous points shall all be discarded. This time they are going to answer one common question and they will be judged in the scale of 1-10 . Rule No. 7 shall be followedagain in getting the total average score of every candidate. 8. The committee has the right to suspend, expelled and impose disciplinary actions for those candidates who refuse to join practices and rehearsals and those who committed misconduct derogatory to her image as a contestant. 9. Candidates together with their handlers and make up artists shall be at the Naval Gymnasium one hour before the contest on October 1, 2013 at 8:00 P.M. 10. Miss Bagasumbul winner will be given a day to stay at Marvin’s Place (good for two) and shall enjoy the amenities and services provided by the resort. 11. Each candidate shall be given 3 minutes to perform her talent on stage. 12. The decision of the Board of Judges is final and irrevovable. REY E.
