MISSING AIR FORCE JET CRASHED IN ADAMAWA Wreckage have been found around a mountainous area of Hawul in Adamawa. Troops are still going ahead with air strikes in Bama, Gwoza and Madagali areas against the insurgents. Over 200 Boko Haram members were killed in the operation and 4 soldiers were injured. The wreckage of the Alpha Jet (NAF 466) belonging to the Nigerian Air Force which lost contact with base after successfully bombing of Boko Haram bases in Konduga on Friday has been found in Hawul in Lala LGA of Adamawa State. Villagers that formed a search team in an effort to locate the plane after rumours that it crashed between Ngalga and Barda in Gabun ward disclosed last night. According to LGA officials, villagers from Hawul village on the Borno side of the border informed them that a plane-like object was sighted in the mountainous area. “Some villagers have just called to tell me that an object they believed to be an aircraft was discovered in the bush,” he said. The Alpha Jet (NAF 466) plane, is one of those deployed against Boko Haram insurgents in Konduga, Borno State, on Friday is an Alpha jet. Military authorities lost contact with it in Adamawa State. Over 200 insurgents were killed in the operation and four soldiers were injured. The incident according to Army Headquarters, had not stopped ongoing operations in Borno and Adamawa states. “Troops are still going ahead with air strikes in Bama, Gwoza and Madagali areas against the insurgents,” he said, adding: Military authorities added that, “we are determined to consolidate on the gains recorded against the insurgents on Friday. No information yet of the two pilots of the Alfa Jet plane.
