It was seven in the morning and he received an important call from Henry, causing him get out of bed though he was reluctant to do so. The bed was just too comfortable. “It’s strange, is it not? This is the second time our shipping orders were mixed somehow, this month.” the elderly man replied, confusion and a hint of anger evident in his voice. “Which ingredients were switched?” he asked, secretly hoping none were needed for the apple strudel. “Instead of the fresh eggs, it was replaced with a leg of lamb. It must’ve been for a restaurant or butcher shop. However, it is good that we already have some eggs left that we can use for today. I might send someone to pick up more later.” He sighed with relief. “That’s all?” he confirmed “Yes, I think so. Wait— there was another. Hold on,” there was a pause and shuffling of what sounded like papers. “Ah! Apple cider vinegar. We’re all out and the order was mixed as well. That means we will not be able to bake our vegan pumpkin bread, apple strudel—” “No, no, no,” he said desperately, cutting Henry off “It’ll be just today, son. Tomorrow we’ll have the ingredients needed. I’ll have to sort things out with the shipping issues and we’ll be alright.” Henry reassured him. But today was Tuesday, and it meant the world to him.
