MMI RECOGNIZES AREA EMPLOYERS MMI has been enriching lives through training, employment and community access for over 40 years. Many of MMI’s participants have barriers that they overcome in order to be successful. Local Businesses play a very important part in the training that MMI provides. For this reason, each year MMI recognizes local employers who have made a significant contribution towards investing in the abilities of the individuals served by MMI. Awards were given out to recognize these abilities at MMI’s Annual Meeting held December 8th. Community Contracts: Clare County Transit Corporation Through MMI’s Community Employment Program MMI has developed a strong association with CCTC. MMI began working with CCTC in February of 1996. Over the years, CCTC has provided employment opportunities for crews and several individual placements that completed bus cleaning and janitorial services. Presently CCTC supports a crew of four people, who provide janitorial services, five days a week. CCTC has played an active auxiliary role in the vocational endeavors of the persons served by MMI. They also support and share in MMI’s goals and mission. CCTC works attentively with MMI to assure the success of those working there. CCTC provides a valuable training location for many served by MMI. Manufacturing Contracts: Bucher Hydraulics Incorporated Bucher Hydraulics began providing work for MMI’s persons served in December of 2009. The work opportunities provided by them fit many of the skill sets of people served by MMI. The skills learned while working on jobs provided by Bucher Hydraulics are numerous. MMI receives work from Bucher Hydraulics on a consistent basis, which allows for consistent planning of the work flow for weekly production. Bucher Hydraulics has considered MMI for many projects that they are involved with and it is greatly appreciated. MMI is proud of the affiliations with businesses like, CCTC and Bucher Hydraulics that show a strong commitment to providing work for individuals served through MMI. MMI looks forward to these relationships remaining strong for many years to come.
